Description

Lake Bidighinzu is an eutrophic reservoir located in Central Western Sardinia (Italy). The lake, built in 1958 has been subjected to several investigation, performed in this environment since the mid-'70s, also with the aimed to assess the action taken to reduce the eutrophic state. The investigations are now implemented with an automatic detection system using sensors on buoys (temperature, pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, potential redox, chlorophyll a). These controls are complemented by simultaneous standard sampling to identify the sets of environmental conditions that can cause and accompany toxic blooms of cyanobacteria, which affects the use of the resource. Within WISER phytoplankton and fish data will be sampled.
